Sri Devendra Benya, S/o- Mohanty Benya is a resident of Belaguda Village of Mahadeiput GP of Koraput District. He is orthopedically challenged with 60% disability, which is considered as a permanent disability. He is pursuing his graduation from Semiliguda College and receives the National Scholarship (Post- Matric) online Reg. No. OR201516002304507). Previously he was getting the Banishree Scholarship through the Sub- Collector, Koraput.

Like any other able bodied person Devendra aspires to make himself independent and economically self-reliant. He had availed a loan of 15,000/- from Andhra Bank, Koraput under DRI for starting a business activity in the year March 2015. With that he set up a Tea Stall near RTO Office, Koraput and within 8 months of his first business he paid off the total loan amount. He has now taken another loan of 50,000/ under Mudra Yojana, from Andhra Bank, Koraput, after due recommendation from District Administration. Apart from this, he is also getting pension (ODP) of 500/- per month and has been provided with a tricycle by the Department of SSEPD. He has also completed a Computer Soft Skill course and a Spoken English Course for three months at VIKA, Pottangi. He will be receiving an award under the Marriage Incentive Scheme of the Government of Odisha.

Sri Debendra Benya has become socially and economically independent. He has now purchased a Laptop and is doing online generation of license applications near RTO Office, Koraput. SSEPD not only helped him to identify his capabilities but also provided all types of support and rehabilitation services to make him empowered and successful in his life. He has since paid off 20,000/- to the Bank as part repayment of total loan amount. He lives a healthy and happy life.
